B.Tech Agricultural Engineering
B.Tech Agricultural Engineering overview
The Department of Agricultural Engineering in HICET was started in the year 2018 with the intake of 60 students which offers a UG programme (B.E) in Agricultural Engineering. A pragmatic Professional Career in the field of Agricultural Engineering gets knitted with a multi-disciplinary application of the Agricultural Science (fundamentals from botany, zoology, microbiology, crop production, crop protection etc) and Engineering Designs involving the basics of Soil Conservation and Water Resources Development, Farm Machinery, Tractors, Implements and Crop Processing Units.
Robotics and Drones, IoT/RS&GIS empowered/embedded Protected Cultivation structures such as Green Houses and Organic Terrace Cultivation using Micro-irrigation and fertigation systems (Aquaponics and Hydroponics),Land Reclamation alongside and Drainage layouts, Rainwater Harvesting and Recycling of industrial wastewaters do assume significance. Any action plan for stabilizing the Agriculture as an Industry should encompass all these prospective components in tandem with Automation and Mechanization perspectives. This eventually culminates into a value added on-demand professional status for the students aspiring for a formidable career with impeccable earnings after graduation. The motto is set to produce one-step ahead and second to none agriculture engineering professionals, bringing laurels to their alma mater as HICET alumni.
